Last week, the South African Kriel Roosters arrives in Bangkok for a game against the Bangers. Thay has a squad of twenty two players and a cheering section of almost the same size. For most the Bangers it was a work day never the less, were able to string together a team to challenge our guests. It was a training match for both clubs who are both entered in the Phuket International Tens.
The Bangers played well in the first quarter and probably took the Roosters by surprise. It was the Roosters however, who put the points on the board with two break away tries. In the second stanza the Bangers scored. The third and fourth quarters saw a good open rugby with the Bangers playing great defensive rugby. However the Bangers were tiring and the Roosters were able scored another two tries before the final whistle.
After the a game both teams adjourned to the clubhouse for post game proceeding partying. The Bangers were finally able to capitalize on their strong points, boat races and the ubiquitous golf ball in the glass. The Roosters were no match.
