Last Sunday at the Police Stadium, the Banger Colts were beaten in a TRU Competition game against the Thai Police. The Colts shorn of few team regulars, will acknowledge that the Police were in a different class on the day.
The Colts were put under pressure from the kick-off and fell away badly after the first twenty minutes allowing the police to ease slowly through the gears to control the game. The Police side whose pace and ambition out wide cut the Colt defence apart.
From the mid-point of the half the traffic took on a decidedly one-way slant. Both packs were well matched in the tight. The line-out was another story with the Police winning a higher percentage of ball.
Despite a spirited second-half, the result was a formality. The police backs revelled in the possession, calm in execution and deadly on the counter attack. Out wide the Colts had their hands full, with the pace of the two excellent Police wingers. It was their backs that created the winning platform.and the Colts scrambled hard all afternoon to breach the holes.
The Bangers did get on the score board, grabbing a consolation try five minutes before the end by Jamie Partington which he converted, signalling an end to a performance the Colts will wish to forget. The final score was a fair reflection on a bad day for the Bangers. Final Score : Thia Police 47, Banger Colts 7
