Colts In Narrow Win Against Thai Navy

Last Saturday the Banger Colts played the Royal Thai Navy in a pre season game at their Navy Academy in Samut Prakan.

A closely fought match in very hot conditions. The Navy crossed the line five times but failed to convert any of the tries whilst the Colts scored four tries under the posts and converted all of them.

Both teams produced quality, entertaining rugby and the result was in doubt until late in the second half. Both teams had 22 man squads and, despite the importance of the result, it was refreshing to see all players given game time through the use of rolling subs throughout the game.

Both teams will also be better for the experience under the pressure of a game like this. For the Banger Colts composure and execution at key times may well have seen them through. Defensively the Colts were effective and accurate, but in attack they can look back at two or three key moments which could have been handled better.

All in all, it was a well played game with well taken tries and thrilling tackles which kept the Colts in the game and ensured they maintained the lead to the finish. Final Score : Banger Colts 28. Royal Thai Navy 25
