Colts And Kings College Draw in Entertaining Encounter

On a perfect late Bangkok afternoon at Bangkok University Rangsit the Colts played Kings College in a TRU Competition match. The game began at a frenetic pace with some adventurous play from both teams. The Colts use the possession well and dominated during the first stanza.The Colt back-line showed their willingness to run the ball where possible, and within fifteen minutes resulted in a thrilling try.

The Colts clung to their lead, although the Thai student forwards began to get the better of the Colts at the maul and line-out and were slowly wresting some control of the game showing their counter-attacking potential

In the second half the Colts were made to work hard battled tenaciously against the students. They are a good side. Later in the half, the Colts, built a few well constructed phases before scoring another gorgeous try scored out wide.

The Catch 22 was, two Bangers were shown a yellow cards in space of fifteen minutes. The Colts are having their difficulties coming to grips with referees interpretation of events. The Colts need to work on this. Kings College took advantage of this and scored two tries

It was a fine display by the Colts however, not a thoroughbred performance. It was another case of familiar flaws outweighing promising signs. The Colts registered a draw in their second outing and could be satisfied with that. Tries were scored by Hugo Vernis, Laurens Notenboom and Garweth Smith and Chris Manders converted all three.
