The Christmas Party last Friday at the new club rooms was a special night and will be long remembered by those that attended. The thirty eight revelers jump started the night sipping complimentary drinks in a holding area on the second floor. After catching enough of the seasonal spirit, the Bangers ascended to the newly decorated club rooms for the Christmas banquet.
Barry Shea our host, crammed as much value as he could into the night, preparing a sumptuous traditional three course Christmas dinner accompanied by a selection of top notch red and white wines. All the elements were in place for a great evening. There is nothing so irrepressibly contagious as laughter and good humor. That was present in abundance.
The Bangers committee had asked all Bangers to bring a suitable gift. The idea was to raffle off the gifts to raise money to assist with travel and tour expenses for Banger Colts who are enter in the Asian Club Rugby Championship in the new year. One gift stood out above all others. One Banger opened his gift box to discover there was a live bantam hen inside. It was allowed to run amok for few minutes, before it was boxed up and sent to a nearby hen house. It was a long memorable evening with reports still till coming in.
