A great two days of rugby at the Pattaya International Tens last weekend. This tournament gets better every year. It was a massive performance from the whole squad. Defensively, the Bangers were outstanding on both days. Every game was a close and pulsating encounter.
The Bangers dominated the teams they played on the Saturday with a scintillating display of running rugby. Excellent work from the forwards who ran hard all day. There were handling errors and spilt ball in pressure situations in the early matches. However this did not faze the team. They fixed the problem and got on with it.
Disappointingly, the Bangers lost to the Pattaya Panthers in the semis and the Plate Final against the Royal Thai Air Force on the Sunday. The Colts played with enthusiasm and endeavor in both games. Despite a good share of possession they were unable to convert promising opportunities into points. The Bangers were left to ponder what might have been. A major team effort but unfortunately, finishing without any silverware. After a hot weekend of rugby the players chilled out in the Horseshoe Point swimming pool with the obligatory can of Heineken.
