The committee would have to be happy with the Family Day organized last Saturday with over fifty people turning up for the event. The afternoons proceedings started with a game of touch football involving players from the three Banger squads and offspring.
Meanwhile, Chairman McDowell and his executive assistant chef Bob Pearson, fired up the new BBQ unit supplied by new sponsor Barbecue Galore. It soon become apparent that Andrew and Bob knew a thing or two about barbecuing,.cooking everything from shrimp to frozen chicken with flair and style. This was a Hells Kitchen on steroids
After the players had showered and changed, they assembled on the BBQ terrace with wives, girlfriends and children and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon with good food, wine and beer and tons of bonhomie. During proceedings, the Bangers fare welled two very popular players, Christo Lemmers and Nick McBride who have both taken new assignments overseas. They both contributed so much to the Bangers during the foundation years, on and off the pitch. They will be missed. The club wish them the best of luck
